Connacht Swim Parent Forum (January 2026)

The Connacht Swim Parent Forum offers an excellent opportunity for swim parents to stay informed and connected.

January’s session focuses on Sports Nutrition, led by Regional Programme practitioner Ronan Costelloe. We’ll share practical tips to help parents support their swimmer’s growth and performance, followed by an interactive Q&A session – your chance to ask questions and provide feedback.

Registration closes at 5pm the day before the event and a Zoom link will be emailed to those registered prior to the meeting.

The Connacht Swim Parent Forum is a great opportunity for swim parents to stay informed. 

This month, we will share details about the 2026-2027 Regional Programme and selection process for athletes born in 2013 and 2014.

We’ll also highlight upcoming events, provide practical guidance to help parents support their swimmer’s development in the sport, and finish with a Q&A session – giving parents the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback.

To make the forum as accessible as possible, we’re offering two sessions. Please note, advance registration is required and will close at 5pm on the day prior to the meeting.

Regional Programme Development Day for Athletes (2013)

Introducing the Regional Programme and the Skills Academy!

Open to all Swim Ireland club members born in 2013, who are competing in the Future Challenger Series.

Discover how the region supports young athletes in their development into age group swimming at the Regional Programme Development Day on Saturday 22 February 2025 at UL Sport Arena, Limerick, from 13:30 to 16:30.

Swimmers can expect to learn more about the Regional Programmes and the Competition Pathway, before diving into a pool clinic that explores effective stroke development.

Swim Ireland Complaints and Disciplinary Training

This online workshop will be delivered by Swim Ireland to help you understand the complaints and disciplinary process that operates within Swim Ireland.

It will outline the complaints and disciplinary process at club, regional and national level whilst also give attendees an opportunity to work through scenario-based activities. 

As part of the training, we will also discuss conflict management and dealing with complaints informally. 

The training will help achieve a practical understanding of:

  • Disciplinary matters 
  • Person in authority
  • Immediate and non-immediate sanctions
  • Complaints 
  • Role of the Complaints & Disciplinary Committee (CDC)

Connacht SwimQuest Programme 2024

Following August’s SwimQuest Pre-Season Skill Camps, the Connacht SwimQuest Programme will be introduced across the region over the course of the season.

Starting in Galway, the aim of the programme is to support athletes in exploring and developing the fundamental skills that can help improve performance.

Managed by Regional Pathway Development Coaches, the programme is is supplementary to the athlete’s home club training.
