To support young athletes in their development into age group swimming, Swim Ireland club members (born 2012) are invited to join the team to experience a day on the Regional Programme at the Connacht Regional Skills Academy Development Camp this September 2023.
We introduce the structure of the Competition Pathway and the Regional Programmes, before diving into a dry land workshop and pool clinic to explore effective stroke development.
The ConnachtSkills Academy Development Camp takes place on Sunday 17 September 2023 at The Complex at Lough Lannagh, Castlebar from 13:00 to 16:30.
Itinerary: 13:00-13:15 Check-in 13:15-14:00 Welcome and Presentation (parents welcome) 14:00-14:45 Strength and Conditioning 14:45-15:00 Transfer to poolside 15:00-16:30 Pool Session
Cost: €25 (exclusive of credit/debit card payment surcharge of 2%)

TheConnachtSwimQuest pre-season development camps aim to help athletes prepare for the season ahead by exploring the fundamental skills that can improve performance. Our three-day camps will review:
Body position and balance
Underwater dolphin kicking and breakouts
Flip turns, open turns and finishes
Stroke progression and efficiency
Where possible, camps will include both a 45min dryland and a 90min pool session.
Junior Camps
Open to Swim Ireland Club Members, born 2011 to 2013. Places limited to 18 athletes.
Registration for SwimQuest pre-season development camps open at 12:00 on Monday 26 June 2023. Bookings can only be made through the athlete’s Swim Ireland Club Membership profile.
AquaXcel
This 2-day pre-season development camp aims to provide swimmers with an assessment of their technical and athletic qualities, before the start of the new season – with intensive use of video recording and review.
Open to swimmers born in 2009 and older with national qualifying times, or on recommendation by their coach.
