Connacht’s fastest athletes were put through their paces on Saturday 19 November in Longford.
Athletes from Athlone SC, Bluefin SC, Carrick Fins SC, Galway SC, Longford SC, Shark SC, County Sligo SC and Trident SC have accepted their places on the Athlete Support Programme (ASP) 2022/23.
Run by Connacht’s Regional Pathway Development Coach, the aim of the ASP is to provide focussed peer-training opportunities that are supplementary to club sessions.
The criteria for selection includes athletes on both the National and Regional Programmes, but also athletes with qualification times within 3% of the Regional Programme standard.
Congratulations to Aleksandr McAleer, Ashley Weafer, Clara Doherty, Conor Lanigan, Cormac Rynn, Darragh Rusk, Dominic French, Eoghan Rynn, Ethan Lourens, Faryl Delaney, Grace Quinn, Julia Warchol, Katie Kelly, Kieran Watterson, Killian Langton, Kyle Kelly, Mark Cormican, Niamh Connery, Niamh Kennedy, Oisin McGlue, Olivia Currie, Philip Duda and Tom O’Rourke.
The region is incredibly grateful to Longford Sports & Leisure Centre for generously donating four pool sessions to support this initiative.
